Getting Started with UptimeVanguard
1. Add Your First Site
Once you're logged in, click the "Add Site" button on your dashboard.
- Enter your website URL (e.g., https://example.com)
- Give it a friendly name
- Choose your monitoring interval (how often we check your site)
- Select check types: HTTP uptime, DNS, SSL certificates
Click "Create Site" and we'll start monitoring immediately!
2. Configure Notifications
Set up email alerts to be notified when your site goes down.
- Go to Notification Settings in the sidebar
- Add your email address(es)
- Choose which events to be notified about (down, up, SSL expiring)
- Save your preferences
3. Monitor Your Site Status
Your dashboard shows the current status of all your sites:
- Green (Up) - Site is responding normally
- Yellow (Warning) - 1-2 consecutive failures detected
- Red (Down) - 3+ consecutive failures, incident created
4. View Check History & Incidents
Click on any site to see detailed monitoring history:
- Response time charts
- Check history with success/failure details
- Incident timeline showing downtime events
- SSL certificate expiration tracking
5. Create a Public Status Page
Share your site's uptime status with your customers:
- Go to Status Pages in the sidebar
- Configure your page title and description
- Choose a custom URL slug
- Share your public status page URL with users
📋 Best Practices
- Use appropriate check intervals for your needs (don't over-monitor)
- Enable multiple check types for comprehensive monitoring
- Configure multiple notification destinations for redundancy
- Regularly review incident history to identify patterns
- Keep SSL certificates at least 30 days from expiration
